ABSTRACT
In Sudan, since independence 1956, political power has been linked to groups that rarely emerge from ethnic, sectarian and military lines. Sudan needs a lot of work in the process of developing both political and social development.
Social Development is the promotion of a sustainable society that is worthy of human dignity by empowering marginalized groups, women and men, to undertake their own development, to improve their social and economic position and to acquire their rightful place in society. This paper aims to identify the relative importance of the indicator of individual social political power in social progress and to determine the most important social factors and key indicators that affect individual social political power in social progress, using data collected in February 2021 by face to face interviews- CAPI in Gezira state where 852 interviews successfully completed in different localities. The study attempted to obtain the respondents’ answers about who monopolizes political power in Sudan, men or women?, or certain groups of the rich.?
The purpose of factor analysis is to reduce many individual items and statement to determine the most important factors that lead interpreting people's attitudes about political power, the analysis yielded that the factors labeled by Monopolizing political power for men, the wealthy and social group, is explaining the variance for the entire set of variables, and the result shows that there is a significant different between citizens views towards social power between urban and rural respondent’s as well as age groups.
